Welcome to 2012

Has the festive period impacted your body image (as above)?
Do you remember the festive period at all?
Have you managed to pick up man flu/sickness during this time?
Are you financially and physically broken?

If the answer is yes to any/all of the above then I salute your commitment and a very warm welcome to the club. There is of course a silver lining to such a stormy cloud situation, mine being gastric flu over New Year meaning I actually gained the sum total of zero pounds over the holidays :)

The over-riding feeling during the start of 2012 is an irrational excitement for the olympics and the onwards march towards spring. I have got my Fred Whitton entry entered and am hoping for 3rd time lucky on getting in. I have also entered some local trail running races between 8 and 14 miles and will do my 1st sportive in March.

So a pretty positive and on-track start to 2012, hoping for injury and illness staying away and of course come spring fitting all my bling to the bike.

I'll let you know how the events go and will hope to give some insight into the bike/kit I use. In particular I'll let you know if the upgraded groupset and wheels make any difference or if I have wasted all my money.

I'll also let you know how some of my kit has performed so far through winter, this includes:

1. Crud racers mud guards
2. Gore Fusion jacket
3. Assos FI Bib shorts
4. Castelli leg warmers
5. Castelli aero race bib-shorts

In addition I have been running pro 2 and GP 4000s tyres and have a clear view on which I prefer and why......
